ANNUAL DAY 2017 (SPORTS)

The Indian Academy this year celebrated its Annual Sports day on 18th & 19th November 2017 with great enthusiasm. The program was spread over two days. The primary school sports day was followed by the senior school sports day where the playground was brimming with zeal, enthusiasm and excitement.

The chief guest for the event was Ms Chitrashi Rawat an actress.

The event unfolded with the releasing of the balloons and a welcome dance performance by the students. Thereafter the Principal Mrs Neelam Sharma extended a warm welcome to all and read the annual report highlighting the achievements of the academic year 2016-17. All the four houses Subhas, Tagore, Vivekananda and Raman presented their much-appreciated march past ceremony. Further, the students participated in their respective races with high spirits and vigour. It was a pleasure to see the zeal with which the children participated in various races and events like sack race, obstacle race, collecting cones, slow cycling race and many others. The achievers were awarded medals by the principal and the guest who appreciated the efforts of the students.

In addition to the races, the students gave Taekwondo, Aerobics, Yoga presentation, PT drills, Pyramid display and various other athlete events. The tug of war between Subhash and Tagore house created overflowing excitement amongst the students and the spectators. The fervent students of The Indian Academy impressed the guests and the audience by their marvellous performance in the events like Discus Throw and Shot Put. The day not only gave an opportunity to the students to showcase their abilities and talents but also to learn team spirit, build coordination and display their confidence, patience, and sportsmanship.

It was a moment of pride when the scholars of the school were awarded for their scholastic and co-scholastic achievements by the director of The Indian Academy, accompanied by a thunderous applause from the audience.

A vote of thanks was proposed by the host and the programme concluded successfully with the rendering of National Anthem.
