Investiture Ceremony 2023-24

“Leadership is defined by knowing the way, going the way, and showing the way.”

The Investiture Ceremony at The Indian Academy, Dehradun, held on Saturday, May 6, 2023, was a distinguished event marked by a profound sense of pride. It was a pivotal occasion where young students were entrusted with leadership roles and responsibilities by the school.
Captain Virendra Khanduri (Retd), Indian Navy, graced the ceremony as the Chief Guest. During the event, Gargi Bhatt, Head of the Student Council, was honored with a sash and badge by the Chief Guest. The School Captain, Ujjwal Das, and Vice Captain, Jasmine Kumain, received their sashes and badges from the Director, Mr. Munendra Khanduri, and Principal, Ms. Neelam Sharma.

Several students were appointed to various leadership roles: Pankaj Pataki, Asmi Rawat, Anubhuti Bisht, Vaibhavi Rawat, Siddhi Chamoli, Ayush Rawat, Akansha Chamoli, Pragya Bhandari, Anika Verma, Anuj Negi, Priyanshu Negi, and Vineet Barthwal were named as Sports Captain & Sports Prefect, Activity Captain & Activity Prefect, Discipline Captain & Discipline Prefect, Language Reformers, and Assembly Commander & Assembly Prefect.
Additionally, Advait Sharma, Shrishti, Daksh Benjwal, Sanskriti Joshi, Aysha Bansal, Vaibhavi Baluni, Yukta Rawat, and Ruval Sajwan were appointed as House Captains & House Prefects. The newly elected office bearers took an oath to fulfill their duties with commitment and dedication. The House Captains & Prefects articulated the mottos of their respective houses.
The pride of TIA, the NCC Cadets, demonstrated section formation under the guidance of Mr. Mohit Maurya, Second Officer, ANO, NCC. The Head of the Student Council, the School Captain, and the Vice Captain shared their insightful thoughts and committed to upholding the school’s values.
Headmistress Ms. Lalita Rawat, Vice Principal Ms. Shuchi Mamgain, and Principal Ms. Neelam Sharma congratulated the newly appointed council members, encouraging them to embody honesty, determination, linguistic proficiency, discipline, and to be the torchbearers of the future.

Chief Guest Captain Virendra Khanduri emphasized the 3 A’s—Aspire, Accept, and Attitude—and the 3 H’s—Honour, Health, and Happiness. He inspired the students to cultivate a clear vision for their lives and extended his heartfelt wishes to the new student council.
