ANNUAL REPORT FOR ACADEMIC YEAR 2019-2020 OF TIA KARNAPRAYAG

The Indian Academy Karnaprayag, established in the year 2019, is determined to work towards minimizing migration from hills by providing quality education to the children at their place. We always strive our best to bring new methods and innovative ideas in our teaching & learning process. We believe in learning by doing. The method of teaching plays a crucial role in developing a child’s personality and grasping knowledge. Hence, we here at TIA, have adopted play way method of teaching so our children enjoy learning. All concepts are introduced in the best activity-based methods. The students are taught using technology and smart classes as well. We have had a very beautiful and successful one year. Let’s have a look over this journey of our successful one year which is filled with efforts of the management, staff members, students and certainly the parents.

The school was inaugurated on 31st March 2019 with lots of hopes and determination to create a change.

In April, the school commenced its first session. The school welcomed all the students with beautiful greetings and students enjoyed the very first day in their new school. An orientation programme was organized in the school premises for parents to make them aware of the scheme of education we impart here at our The Indian Academy, Karnaprayag. Various competitions like calligraphy competition, story writing competition, paragraph writing were held in the school which helped in improving the writing skills of our students. The winners were felicitated with certificates and awards. Our students participated in the Plantation drive on the occasion of World Earth day.

In May, Mother’s day was celebrated in which students performed various activities like dances, acts, speeches and showed their love for their mothers. Later in May English group recitation competition was organized for all the classes which helped students to improve their intonation, expressions and in build their confidence so that they can present themselves smartly on the stage. A dental medical camp was organized in the school before summer break to make students aware of dental hygiene.

After a long summer break, students were welcomed back to the school with beautiful greetings and lots of activities.
On 26th July the sacrifice of Kargil war heroes was remembered by the school on Kargil victory day.

August arrived with a plethora of competitions and activities. First, in the month, Drawing competition was organized to bring out the creative skills of the students. On 15th August, Independence day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotism. Students performed a variety of activities on independence day like speeches, acts, songs, dances and so on. India is a country of festivals and hence festival celebration is a very important part of the activities which are held in the school. Festival celebrations help to introduce to the child the beauty and diverse culture of our country. Janamashtmi was celebrated in the school premises in which students participated in shloka recitation competition. Our students recited shlokas of Bhagavad Gita and were appreciated by all. Soon after a spell bee competition was organized for the students to improve their vocabulary, pronunciation and spellings. Various indoor games’ competitions like ludo, carom, and chess competitions were also organized in the school in which students participated actively.

Hindi and Swacchta Pakwada was celebrated in September in which a range of activities related to Hindi language and Swacchta were held in the morning assembly. Several competitions like Hindi elocution competition, Hindi article writing competition, Hindi storytelling competition, Vaad Vivad pratiyogita were also held in this month. A pledge of keeping India clean was taken in the assembly by all and a proper way of washing hands was explained and showcased to the students. In today’s world Cyber safety is a matter of concern therefore to reach the objective of making the students aware about cyber safety, a poster making competition was organized in the school in which students presented different safety measures and were made aware of the cyber crimes and the precautions they should take while handling the internet. On 5th September, Teachers day, our students performed heartwarming activities and showcased their love for their teachers in their speeches, poems, compliments, and dances.

In October, Gandhi Ji and Shastri Ji were remembered by the students on their birth anniversaries. Students performed acts, songs, and delivered speeches. The festival of lights i.e Deepawali was celebrated in the school campus and Diya & Rangoli making competitions were organized for the students.

In November, various activities and competitions like English Elocution competition, storytelling competition, debate competition were organized to improve communication skills of the students and to build up their confidence so that they can effectively present their views. Furthermore, Children’s day was celebrated where the teachers performed and arranged various activities for the students and displayed their affection towards them. Our students enjoyed the joyful performances by their teachers which were dedicated to them. Moreover, Our students should be aware of good touch and bad touch. We need to tell teach our students to say ‘NO’. To alert the students about the same, a movie on “good touch and bad touch” was shown to the students since they need to be aware so that can protect themselves from any kind of bad touch or an uncomfortable situation.

In December, Santa Claus came to wish Merry Christmas and students sang Christmas carols. Santa then distributed sweets and everybody was delighted to see Santa.

In January, Republic day was celebrated on 26th January in which students performed various activities and gave energetic speeches. Thought writing competition, Hindi writing competition was also organized for the students. The result of Bhartiya Sanskriti Gyan Pariksha was also declared by the Pariksha Samiti in which our students were in the top three at Tehsil level and one student stood 2nd at the district level.

Apart from all these activities, a very informative assembly is conducted every day where we discuss News, GK topics and vocabulary. Every student gets a chance to present himself/herself in the assembly which helps in building up their confidence. Special assemblies are conducted on special days like World earth day, World Malaria Day, World Thalassaemia day, World Food day etc. Students perform different acts, deliver speeches on these special days. Information on disaster management, cybersecurity, social safety, cleanliness is also given from time to time in the assembly. Moral stories are also a part of the assembly which helps in inculcating high moral values in the students. Teachers deliver motivational thoughts and stories during examinations to boost up children’s confidence and keep them stress-free.

In this one year, students have learned a lot of new things, achieved success in different competitions, and are continuously excelling at academics. Thus, this has been a really beautiful, vigorous, and thriving one year and wish for many better ones for our students. There is no doubt to the fact that the success of any nation depends on their students. They are the hope of tomorrow and the beacon of the future for a nation.
