Declamation Competition for the students of classes I to IV on Tuesday, 30th January, 2024 held at the school premises.
The objective of the programme was to give a platform to the students where they could show their talent in the oratory skill.

The students from classes Playgroup to XII participated in different activities on the occasion.
The toddlers of TIA enjoyed the Tricolour Sandwich Making Activity,Flag Making Activity using clay and had shown their creativity in the colouring competition depicting India’s national symbols. Students presented a vibrant cultural programme which consisted of patriotic speeches, poems and dances.

The school organised an insightful event for the students of Classes X to XII on Friday, 22nd December 2023.
The notable speaker Mr.Amit Mohan Kathpalia, a Chartered Accountant , shared his expertise and knowledge by guiding the students on the core concepts of Commerce. He also apprised them about a plethora of career options available in the field of Commerce.
The Principal, Ms.Neelam Sharma summed up the session by citing various practical situations.
In a nutshell, the session was quite enriching and informative.

A glimpse of English Debate Competition for Classes IX to XII held on 28th Nov,2023.

विद्यालय में 15 सितंबर 2023 को हिंदी दिवस के उपलक्ष्य में एक प्रश्नोत्तरी प्रतियोगिता ज्ञान चक्षु का आयोजन किया गया| इस प्रतियोगिता के अंतर्गत कक्षा छटवीं व सातवीं के विद्यार्थियों ने प्रतिभाग किया| प्रतियोगिता को चार वर्गों में विभाजित किया गया| प्रश्नोत्तरी कार्यक्रम में मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में विद्यालय के निदेशक महोदय माननीय श्री ‘मुनेंद्र खंडूरी’ जी व विद्यालय की प्रधानाचार्या श्रीमती ‘नीलम शर्मा’ जी उपस्थित रहें, जिन्होंने विद्यार्थियों के प्रश्नोत्तरी कार्यक्रम की प्रशंसा की| माननीय निदेशक महोदय जी के द्वारा विजयी प्रतिभागियों को पुरस्कार स्वरूप प्रमाण पत्र वितरित किए गए, प्रथम पुरस्कार मिला– सुमित्रानंदन पंत वर्ग को जिनके अंक थे 125 ,द्वितीय पुरस्कार मिला ‘महादेवी वर्मा’ को जिनके अंक थे 120 | प्रधानाचार्य जी द्वारा भाषा के महत्व को समझाने के पश्चात ज्ञान चक्षु कार्यक्रम समाप्त हुआ|

The tiny tots of TIA celebrated the holy festival with great delight on 6th Sep,2023. The little Radha Krishnas sang hymns and danced on the songs of Krishna. A beautiful tableau was prepared by the teachers. Students watched a movie on Krishna’s life. The festival instilled a sense of devotion among the students.

The Indian Academy celebrated Teachers’ Day with due reverence on 5th Sep,2023 to pay homage to the great teacher & philosopher Dr.Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan. The students of class XII presented a line of events which included melodious Garhwali folk songs,captivating dance performances,heart touching poems,inspiring speech and hilarious skit. Shiv tandav strot sung by the students gave goosebumps to all.
TIA extends their heartfelt wishes to all the teachers all around the world.

The little Eco Warriors from Class Playgroup to UKG celebrated the occasion of Raksha Bandhan in the form of VRIKSHABANDHAN by tying a beautiful rakhi to the tree. The objective was to instil a sense of environment protection among our students.
Classes I to IV participated with great zeal in the Rakhi Making Competition.The rakhis were made using waste material like ice- cream spoons, discarded beads, waste paper, nuts shells, rice grains, pulses etc.Here’s a glimpse of the activities.

The Indian Academy blissfully celebrated the 77th Independence Day with boundless enthusiasm and patriotic fervour. The Flag Hoisting Ceremony was conducted followed by the National Anthem sung by all with immense pride.

The school campus was exuberating with the eye-catching, scintillating cultural performances by the students which included Speeches in English, Hindi & Sanskrit, Patriotic Poems, Songs & Dances.

The students were encouraged to be self- reliant, self motivated and responsible citizens so that their contribution leads to the development of the nation.

The Investiture Ceremony of The Indian Academy,Dehradun was held on Saturday,6th May,2023 with great dignity and pride.It was the momentous occasion where the young students were prepared to don the mantle of leadership and discharge responsibilities entrusted to them by the school.The Chief Guest for the occasion was Captain Virendra Khanduri,Indian Navy ( RETD).The Head of the Student Council,Gargi Bhatt was conferred with sash & badge by the Chief Guest.The School Captain,Ujjwal Das and the Vice Captain,Jasmine Kumain were conferred with sashes & badges by the Director, Mr.Munendra Khanduri & the Principal, Ms.Neelam Sharma.

Advait Sharma,Shrishti,Daksh Benjwal,Sanskriti Joshi,Aysha Bansal,Vaibhavi Baluni,Yukta Rawat & Ruval Sajwan were appointed as the House Captains & House Prefects.The newly elected office bearers took an oath to delegate their duties with commitment and devotion.The House Captains & Prefects shed light on the motto of their respective houses.The pride of TIA,the NCC Cadets demonstrated the Section formation under the guidance of Mr.Mohit Maurya,Second Officer, ANO,NCC.The Head of the Student Council,the School Captain and the Vice Captain shared their insightful thoughts and promised to uphold the values of the school.
The Headmistress,Ms.Lalita Rawat,The Vice Principal,Ms.Shuchi Mamgain,the Principal,Ms.Neelam Sharma congratulated the council members and encouraged them to be honest,determined,well versed in language,disciplined and the torch bearers of tomorrow.
The Chief Guest Captain Virendra Khanduri Sir elaborated the 3 A’s- Aspire,Accept and Attitude and 3 H’s – Honour,Health & Happiness.He motivated the students to have a good vision for life and coveyed his heartfelt wishes to the newly appointed student council.

The Indian Academy Dehradun celebrated Earth day to remember all the gifts that Mother Earth gives us and remind us to contribute to keep our planet healthy.The students of class 1 to 4 presented fascinating performances in the form of poems, action song, speech, dance and skit to express their gratitude for our mother earth. A Speech elaborating the importance of Earth was delivered in Sanskrit by Divyanshi Rana of class Xl . The programme concluded with the precious words of Vice Principal Mrs Suchi Mamgain followed by the motivational words of Principal,TIA Mrs Neelam Sharma.

The Science department of The Indian academy, Dehradun organised an inter house Lampara Science Quiz competition for class 7 and 8 on 11th December 2023 to commemorate National science day and the discovery by Sir C.V. Raman, the Indian renowned physicist. All the four houses of the school participated in the quiz with great enthusiasm and zeal. The quiz master for the quiz was Ms.Neelam Malhotra and the host was Ms Preeti kotiyal. Names of the team were based on the names of the famous scientist.

हिन्दी वाद –विवाद प्रतियोगिता का शीर्षक था ‘वेदों की ओर लौटना तर्कसंगत है|’ विवाद प्रतियोगिता हेतु कुल 9 विद्यार्थी चयनित हुए थे, जिनमें से 5 विद्यार्थी पक्ष में तथा 4 विद्यार्थी विपक्ष में थे |दोनों ही पक्षों ने अपनी बात को तर्क व प्रमाण के साथ प्रस्तुत किया|

२.वितीय स्थान जैसमिन कुमाइन तथा
३.तृतीय स्थान पर अदिति गोदियाल रही|

THE INDIAN ACADEMY HOSTS AN ‘ IELTS’ ORIENTATION WORKSHOP on 10th December, 2022
In keeping with the spirit of exploring and acquanting the students with the latest developments in the field of education, TIA hosted an informative orientation programme on IELTS, on its campus today.
The resource persons for the same were Mr. Chaudhary and Ms. Shimona of University Crest, Dehradun. Classes XI and XII were most benefited from the workshop as it highlighted the steps required to be undertaken in order to apply for courses in the universities abroad -:especially in the USA, Canada, Australia and the UK.
Through the audio visual presentations and some handouts they apprised the students regarding the requisites for studying abroad. They also offered to guide the students with the IELTS and the paperwork thereafter.

TIA Dehradun organised an Inter-house social science quiz competition on 10th December 2022, to commemorate Constitution Day that is celebrated on 26th November, every year.
All the four houses of the school participated in the quiz with great enthusiasm. Each team was given a name:

The quiz was conducted in 4 rounds having a variety of questions in the form of testing time ,buzzer round, audio-visual and rapid fire questions.

द इंडियन एकेडमी में हिंदी पखवाड़े के अंतर्गत आज 14 सितंबर को ‘हिंदी दिवस’ के उपलक्ष्य में कक्षा सातवीं व आठवीं के विद्यार्थियों का हिंदी प्रश्नोत्तरी (ज्ञान चक्षु) कार्यक्रम का आयोजन हुआ| जिसमें मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में विद्यालय की प्रधानाचार्या श्रीमती नीलम शर्मा जी, उप प्रधानाध्यापिका श्रीमती सुचि मंमगाई जी, सह संयोजक महोदया अनुराधा असवाल जी आदि मौजूद थे| कार्यक्रम में विद्यार्थियों को 4 वर्गों में विभक्त किया गया| तत्पश्चात प्रश्नोत्तरी कार्यक्रम आरंभ हुआ| कार्यक्रम की मेजबानी हिंदी अध्यापिका शीतल तोमर जी द्वारा तथा प्रश्नकर्ता श्रीमती ज्योति सती जी द्वारा प्रारंभ किया गया |प्रश्नोत्तरी के तहत चार चक्र थे| प्रथम चक्र जिसका नाम ऐन्दरिक था जिसके अंतर्गत पहेलियां, मुहावरे, पर्यायवाची तथा पुरस्कार से संबंधित प्रश्न पूछे गए , द्वितीय चक्र में जिसका नाम परिदृश्य था इसके अंतर्गत प्रक्षेपक पर दो कवि या लेखकों के चलचित्र दिखाकर फोटो पहचान कर नाम बताने थे, तृतीय चक्र में जिसका नाम झंकार था इसके तहत प्रक्षेपक पर काव्य पंक्ति तथा कथन से संबंधित एक ध्वनि सुनाई जा रही थी तथा चतुर्थ चक्र में प्रश्नों की एक लड़ी थी जिसका नाम शीघ्रातिशीघ्र था जिसके उत्तर विद्यार्थियों को शीघ्र अति शीघ्र देने थे| कार्यक्रम में विद्यार्थी रुचि पूर्वक प्रश्नों के उत्तर दे रहे थे| कुछ प्रश्न दर्शक गण के लिए भी थे जिनके उत्तर दर्शक भी उत्सुकता पूर्वक देने का प्रयास कर रहे थे |कार्यक्रम के अंत में सुभाष सदन (सूर्यकांत त्रिपाठी निराला) प्रथम आए ,द्वितीय स्थान पर टैगोर सदन, (जयशंकर प्रसाद) तृतीय स्थान पर विवेकानंद (महादेवी वर्मा) आदि रहे|
प्रश्नोत्तरी कार्यक्रम के अंत में माननीय प्रधानाचार्या जी द्वारा स्वरचित एक कविता सुनाई गई और कहा गया कि जो विद्यार्थी मुझे इस कविता का अर्थ बताएँगे उन्हें विद्यालय की तरफ से प्रमाण पत्र दिया जाएगा| कविता सुनने के पश्चात 3 विद्यार्थियों ने अपने- अपने तरीके से कविता का अर्थ बताया जो उचित था|

The students of the Indian Academy class 5B presented a group dance on SAVE WATER in the morning assembly on the song mission Pani anthem under the guidance of class teacher M/S Meena Rawat.
Through the performance the students tried to spread awareness of conservation of water. Water crisis is one of the most compelling situations we need to address. Our children became the voice of our youth who are looking to make a difference. In the performance, they urge to take the right steps towards saving water and maintaining hygiene as well as practice efficient water management.The group dance performed by the students to raise the awareness specially on water pollution and its management.

The students of class 7A has done nukkad Natak on 1st September,2022 to tell our students about Cyber Crime. As now a days our new generation is too much busy in Internet facilities like Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp etc. But they don’t know more about the Cyber Crime. So the students of TIA with this Nukkad Natak tells others that don’t be a victim of cyber crime. They spoke about what you should not do while using internet facilities, like –
1. Don’t share your financial information with others.
2. Never click on unknown link.
3. Never share your personal information.
4. And after sign in remember to do sign out.
And many more other tips the students give through this Nukkad Natak.

The Indian Academy, Dehradun organised an inter house sports quiz competition on 29th August 2022, to commemorate the birthday of late Major Dhyan Chand, who is also known as the “Magician of Hockey”. The event was hosted by Ms. Priya Dhanaie and the Quiz master of the day was Mr. Sunil Pasbola.
All the four houses of the school,the Tagore House, the Vivekanand House, the Subhash House and the Raman House took part in the quiz with great enthusiasm.Each team was given a name and it included two participants each such as

‘The most overwhelming key to a child’s success is the positive involvement of parents’
The Indian Academy,Dehradun hosted a one-day workshop on ‘ Smart and Effective Parenting’ on Saturday,27th August ,2022.The Resource Person Dr.B Pratibha Sharma,Consultant Clinical Psychologist emphasised that adolescents of today have to be tackled very sensitively and tactfully.She shared some strategies to curb the menace of ‘Games Addiction’ as most of the parents face trouble because of their child’s addiction to mobile phones.She focussed on the mental well being of the present generation to make them well-groomed personalities of future.The parents also got an open platform to discuss their queries with the resource person and they appreciated the school’s initiative in this regard.
The Principal,Ms.Neelam Sharma also shared her valuable suggestions by citing practical examples related to the behavioural problems of the students.She urged the parents to provide moral support to their wards as ‘Children need their parents presence more than their presents’.

The Indian Academy celebrates the Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav with gusto.
The little learners( classes PG to IV) of The Indian Academy celebrated the Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav with an amazing collection of patriotic poems, action songs and a variety of dances from the states of India.
The little performers gave their presentations in the form of folk dances from Jammu and Kashmir to Rajasthan to Assam, Uttarakhand and Karnataka and several other states.
Through this colourful and vibrant programme the students were given a glimpse the myriad cultures that are a part and parcel of our incredible country, India.

The Indian Academy celebrated “Har Ghar Tiranga”campaign with full enthusiasm.
All the students and staff contributed for the event.
Each student and staff member has sent Tiranga to ITBP so that they can hoist flags in all boarder areas of our country.
It was a proud moment for all the Indian Academians.

The First Online Exchange Programme between The Indian Academy, Dehradun and DPS, Bengaluru East was held on Saturday,6th August,2022.
The virtual meet on the Scrap Book Activity was based on the theme ‘Mera Karnataka Mera Uttarakhand’.
The students of Grade 7&8 presented a PPT briefing about the food, culture, cuisine, flora and fauna, tourist places, dances and dams of Karnataka & Uttarakhand. The presentations gauged the attention of the audience and was quite impressive and informative. The students also presented a video on the comparative study of both the states and was indeed wonderful.
The event resulted as a tremendous success and the students were praised by all.

The junior section of The Indian Academy, had organized the very first English Recitation Competition for classes I to IV from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM & a Recitation Competition for classes PG, LKG & UKG from 9:00AM to 9:30 AM ,today, 3rd August, 2022.
The themes for these two competitions were- NATURE & MONSOON respectively. The participants presented a variety of poems praising nature, directing humans to respect nature, thanking mother nature etc.
It was heartening to watch and hear the little learners in their element.
The programme gave a glimpse of the fading effects of the pandemic , finally.
All the participants displayed enthusiasm and gave spirited performances.
The audience comprising other students was equally involved.
So, the first set of competitions after the unprecedented break lifted the spirits of the staff & the students.

The Indian Academy hosted a one-day workshop on ‘ Art and Science Integration’ on Saturday,30th July,2022 in the school premises.The workshop was hosted by Ms.Lalita Rawat and Ms.Priya Dhanaie. The teachers from the renowned schools of Dehradun participated in it. The Principal,Ms.Neelam Sharma presented an enlightening PPT Presentation highlighting the key objectives of Art- Integration Learning.The resource person,Ms.Anuradha Aswal conducted an interactive session by demonstrating various activities like drawing, song, role play etc while teaching the topic ‘ Heredity’.The participant teachers attended the workshop enthusiastically and produced beautiful models of DNA by using the available material.They also shared their ideas on integration of arts in science by teaching a topic of their own choice in a creative way.
The Headmistress ,Ms.Shuchi Mamgain appreciated the efforts of everyone and shared her valuable inputs .
In a nutshell, the workshop proved quite beneficial for the participants and they enjoyed exchanging their ideas with each other.

On the first day we celebrated it by explaining the thought given by Dr C.V .Raman “success comes to by courageous devotion to the task lying in front of you”
Along with the thought explanation, everyday an audio on Indian scientist and their achievements prepared by our students was sent in all the class groups of our school. Science teachers also delivered amazing facts, science news and two inventions every day to the students in their respective classes. On the last day of the science week that is 28th February 2022, a speech on national science day in the form of audio was sent in all the groups which was prepared by our student Anushka kandari of class X.
On 28th February we organised a quiz competition for classes 6 to 8. Participants were divided into four teams .i.e.Team Newton,Team Edison,Team Galileo,Team Hawking. Each team comprised of three members. Team Hawking won the competition and the name of the participants of the winning team were;

2. Shreya Badoni-7th
3. AashnaThapliyal-6th class.

Winners were awarded by the principal with the prize and certificates.
