The Indian Academy Hosts the Annual Sports & Drill Display 2025

The Indian Academy organised its Annual Sports & Drill Display 2025 with great enthusiasm and spirited participation from students of Play Group to Class XII on 29th and 30th November 2025. The two-day event highlighted discipline, teamwork, and vibrant performances by both the Junior and Senior Wings.

Day 1: Junior Wing Sports & Drill Display (Play Group to Class VI)

The inaugural day was graced by distinguished guests—Dr. Pratibha Sharma, Dr. Abhishek Singh Negi, Mr. C.M. Payal, Mrs. Vijay Laxmi (Municipal Councillor), Managing Director Mr. Munendra Khanduri, Director Mrs. Deepa Khanduri, Principal Ms. Neelam Sharma, and Principal TIA Karanprayag.

The celebration began with the ceremonial balloon release and an impressive March Past by NCC cadets. Vice-Principal Ms. Shuchi Mamgai presented a brief report titled “Empowering Educators,” followed by the Annual Report 2025 delivered by Headmistress Ms. Lalita Rawat.

Students of the Junior Wing presented a series of energetic and colourful performances, including the Welcome Dance, Sports Dance, Rhyme Medley, Zumba, Yoga Demonstration, Dumbbell Drill, Hula-Hoop Drill, and a graceful Closing Dance by Class VI.

Exciting races like the Banana Race, Pick the Toy Race, Stack the Rings, Pack Your Bag Race, Obstacle Race, and Rings & Pyramid Adventure captivated the audience. A powerful Taekwondo Demonstration by Class V boys added to the day’s excitement.

The school also honoured its staff with 10-Year Service Awards presented to Ms. Nirmala Sharma, Ms. Seema Khattri, and Ms. Vinita Chettri. The Teacher of the Year Award (Junior Wing) was conferred upon Ms. Rekha Badoni.

Day 2: Senior Wing Annual Sports Meet (Classes VII to XII)

The second day commenced with the welcome of esteemed guests—Maj. Gen. (Dr.) G.K. Thapliyal (SM), Mr. Vinod Kumar Dhoundiyal, and other senior school officials.

Following formal introductions, the event was declared open with a balloon-release ceremony and a disciplined March Past by NCC cadets. Principal Mrs. Neelam Sharma presented the Annual Report 2025.

Students from the Senior Wing delivered a dynamic lineup of performances, including a Devotional Opening Dance (Class XII), Zumba, Gymnastic Dance, Sword Drill, Dumbbell Drill, Lezim Drill, Aerobics, and Yoga Demonstrations.

Track and field events featured the 50 m Races, Relay Race, Lemon & Spoon Race, Hurdle Race, Slow Cycling, and Balance the Plate Race. A thrilling Tug of War between Vivekanand House and Subhash House received loud cheers from the spectators.

Tagore House, led by Ms. Saumya Saxena, proudly lifted the Best House Trophy. An Appreciation Award was presented to Ms. Asha Bhatt, while the Teacher of the Year Award (Senior Wing) was awarded to Ms. Leena Gupta.

The esteemed guests praised the dedication of teachers, students, and the school management, encouraging parents to continue supporting their children in laying a strong foundation for their future.

Both days concluded with vibrant closing dances and heartfelt Votes of Thanks. The Annual Sports & Drill Display 2025 truly showcased The Indian Academy’s commitment to sportsmanship, discipline, and holistic development, making the event a memorable and inspiring celebration for all.
